About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship based in New York. You will join our catastrophe management team for a six-week program running from June 2027 through August 2027. The role operates in a hybrid environment, allowing you to work alongside teammates while gaining exposure to the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Support catastrophe management initiatives.
- Participate in a structured curriculum and on-the-job experiential learning.
- Gain industry knowledge and function-specific expertise.
- Develop personal and professional skills.
- Network with senior leaders, technical experts, and customers.
- Collaborate with teammates on a group project based on an actual business challenge.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising university junior or senior.
- You are pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Meteorology, Physics, or another STEM-related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- You possess a solid foundation in numerical reasoning and statistical thinking.
- Prior coursework or hands-on experience with data analysis or programming, such as Python or SQL, is strongly preferred.
- You have excellent computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- You have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a focus on integrity and follow-through.
- You have a basic understanding of artificial intelligence and its potential business applications.
- You are legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employment-based sponsorship.
