About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program for undergraduate students interested in commercial banking. You will work alongside experienced professionals to learn about banking operations, credit culture, and financial strategies. The program includes workshops, training sessions, and networking events with SouthState leaders.
What you'll do#
- Conduct market research and financial analysis to identify client needs.
- Assist with financial spreads, due diligence on borrowers, and loan document reviews.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, credit analysts, and team leaders on business initiatives.
- Support marketing activities to promote banking services and engage clients.
- Complete mandatory new hire compliance training and orientation.
- Manage daily tasks with attention to detail and meet project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status as a rising senior graduating in 2028.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Accounting, or Finance.
- A 3.4 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position located in Greenville, South Carolina.
- The internship takes place during the summer of 2027.
- You will work 40 hours per week in an office environment.
