About the role#
This 10-week summer internship offers an introduction to commercial loan closing, documentation, and regulatory compliance. You will work within the Loan Closing Department to gain hands-on experience with the full loan lifecycle. The program includes structured training, mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate with teams across Lending, Credit Administration, and Compliance.
What you'll do#
- Participate in workshops, training sessions, job shadowing, and special projects.
- Assist with loan request intake, document organization, workflow tracking, and operational reporting.
- Review loan closing packages under supervision to identify missing or inconsistent information.
- Observe the preparation and review of commercial loan documents, closing instructions, and settlement information.
- Support quality control, process improvement, automation, and technology initiatives.
- Complete and present a final project summarizing your findings and recommendations to department leadership.
- Complete all mandatory compliance training and department-specific orientation.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status, specifically a rising senior graduating in 2028.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, Information Systems, or Business Analytics.
- A 3.4 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and service-focused mindset.
- Interest in commercial lending, loan operations, compliance, or automation.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid remote internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is open to students located in VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, TX, and CO.
- You must have a secure, distraction-free workspace and a reliable internet connection.
