About the role#
As an Operations Leader Intern, you will support the operations leadership team by coordinating cross-functional initiatives and driving efficiency improvements. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, scalable day-to-day operations through data analysis, process monitoring, and team collaboration. You will work directly on the shop floor to bridge the gap between production scheduling and execution.
What you'll do#
- Foster employee relations and engagement while supporting team morale and frontline communication.
- Collect and analyze shop-floor data to maintain performance dashboards and track metrics like cycle times and downtime.
- Support continuous improvement activities, map processes, and help implement small experiments.
- Assist with machine setups, quality inspections, and root-cause investigations for recurring defects.
- Conduct basic safety observations, report hazards, and manage safety documentation.
- Communicate project status updates to supervisors, engineering, purchasing, and quality teams.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Strong academic performance with coursework in production processes, quality control, or operations strategy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively across different departments.
