About the role#
As a Pharmacy Student Intern at Albertsons Companies, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist or preceptor to provide patient care and support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on clinical services and building relationships within the community.
What you'll do#
- Perform all tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Fill prescriptions while following all laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Consult with customers and health care professionals about drug therapy, prescription knowledge, and health products.
- Participate in clinical services, including immunizations, vaccinations, point of care testing, and disease state management.
- Help implement company initiatives to improve pharmacy profitability.
- Provide patient counseling and assist with over the counter medication recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
- A valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
- Ability to adapt to changes in work priorities and schedules as business needs require.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well within a team.
