About the role#
As a Pharmacy Student Intern, you will gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist or preceptor to provide patient care and support pharmacy operations. This role involves direct interaction with customers and healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management.
What you'll do#
- Perform all tasks under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
- Process and fill prescriptions in accordance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Consult with customers and healthcare providers regarding drug therapy, prescription information, and health products.
- Participate in clinical services such as immunizations, vaccinations, point of care testing, and disease state management.
- Carry out initiatives to support pharmacy operations and profitability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
- A valid state intern license, if required by the state of employment.
- Ability to adapt to changes in scheduling and work priorities based on business needs.
- A collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
