Software Engineer Intern - Full Stack Web

About the role#

Akuna Capital is seeking Software Engineer Interns to join the User Interface team for a 10-week summer program. Interns work directly with traders, quants, and other engineers to design, build, test, and maintain real-time trading applications. You will take full ownership of a project and present your work at the conclusion of the program.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop web applications using React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Implement robust unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Discover, evaluate, and implement technologies to improve user experience and development efficiency.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and shadow the application support process.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or an equivalent technical field.
• Graduation date no later than August 2028.
• A major GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Proficiency in web programming languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and HTML/CSS.
• Familiarity with Linux, command-line shells, version control systems like Git, and unit testing frameworks such as pytest or Jest.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required on the first day of employment.
