About the role#
Akuna Capital is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the User Interface team for a 10-week summer internship program. You will work alongside traders, quants, and other engineers to design, build, test, and maintain real-time trading applications. Interns take ownership of individual projects and present their work at the conclusion of the program.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop Windows desktop applications using C# .NET and WinForms or WPF.
- Implement robust unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Evaluate and implement technologies to improve user experience and development efficiency.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum development cycles.
- Shadow the application support process to understand operational workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Science.
- Graduation date no later than August 2028.
- Major GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Understanding of the .NET Framework and C# programming language.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on the first day of employment.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, design patterns, version control systems like Git, and unit testing frameworks is preferred.
