Software Engineer Intern - C# .NET Desktop

About the role#

Akuna Capital is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the User Interface team for a 10-week summer internship. You will work alongside Traders, Quants, and other engineers to design, build, test, and maintain real-time trading applications. Interns take ownership of a project and present their accomplishments at the end of the program. Prior experience in finance or trading is not required.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop Windows desktop applications using C# .NET and WinForms/WPF.
• Implement sound and robust unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Discover, evaluate, and implement technologies to maximize user experience and development efficiency.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles.
• Shadow the application support process.

What you'll need#

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or an equivalent technical field.
• Graduation date by August 2028.
• Major GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Understanding of the .NET Framework and C# programming language.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming, design patterns, version control systems like Git, and unit testing concepts.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required on the first day of employment.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Compensation: Paid internship with a minimum annualized base salary of $145,000.
