About the role#
Akuna Capital is looking for a part-time Accounting Intern to join our Finance team during the school year. This is a hands-on position where you will work with experienced accountants to see how finance functions within a global trading firm. We are looking for a proactive student who is comfortable working independently.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies and propose solutions.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support external audits.
- Take on ad hoc projects across the Finance team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Sophomore standing or above is preferred.
- A solid grasp of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in MS Office software with intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required on the first day of employment.

- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week during the academic term.
- Compensation: The minimum hourly wage is $25 per hour.
