About the role#
Airbus is seeking a Finance Services & Transformation intern for a six-month, part-time position based in Herndon, Virginia. This role supports the regional Services finance team by delivering financial analytics, cost controlling, and performance management reporting. You will work under the mentorship of the Head of Services Finance and senior controllers to assist in operational decision-making and the digital evolution of the finance organization.
What you'll do#
- Plan the growth and development of the regional Services business.
- Prepare regional financial reviews and perform deep-dive root-cause analyses on budget performance.
- Customize and deploy AI use-case assessments for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Champion the adoption of AI-powered data retrieval systems to automate data gathering.
- Assist in preparing executive-level financial briefings, metrics, and dashboards.
- Perform business controlling over an annual Operational Expenditure perimeter.
- Manage, analyze, and approve procurement and headcount-hiring pipelines.
- Monitor and analyze P&L and balance sheet items, including revenue, cost accruals, and accounts receivable.
- Support the expansion of Revenue-to-Cash Free Cash Flow methodology.
- Partner with Business Operations, Accounting, and Financial Systems teams.
- Formulate business parameters such as unit costing models and effective hourly rates.
- Develop overhead allocation methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Foundational understanding of corporate finance, financial statement analysis, and cost accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze structured dataset metrics and summarize complex quantitative information.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- 0-2 years of previous internship or academic project experience.
- Fluent English.
- Preferred: Prior exposure to PowerBI, SQL, or SAP; knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP; financial evaluation skills.
