About the role#
The Loss Prevention Intern works with the Safety Manager and Plant Leadership team to ensure facility compliance with regulations. You will help maintain safe building and equipment standards while modeling safe behaviors for the team. This role provides direct experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on risk management and workplace security.
What you'll do#
- Support safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with safety program evaluations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of safety improvements.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations to identify corrective actions.
- Develop and update safety procedures, training materials, and employee resources.
- Partner with staff to identify hazards and improve safety awareness.
- Present project outcomes and recommendations at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree program in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in safety management systems, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
