About the role#
As an Insurance Officer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working alongside our team to support insurance sales and customer service. You will develop sales skills, manage portfolios, and contribute to projects that support our rural communities. This role is a 12-week program designed to provide insight into the ag finance and lending business.
What you'll do#
- Learn how to prospect for new customers and observe sales calls with Insurance Officers.
- Assist with the organization and coordination of insurance programs.
- Gain knowledge of the multi-peril and hail insurance products we offer.
- Help with general office procedures and prepare mailings for promotions.
- Promote our services through public activities and attend staff meetings.
- Observe different support roles and complete assigned special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- A genuine interest in the ag finance and credit industry.
- Availability for the full 12-week summer term.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Fargo, North Dakota.
- The position is on-site and full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
- Interns must be available to travel to Omaha, Nebraska, three times during the summer for orientation and program events. Travel expenses for these trips are covered.
- This is a paid internship that includes a sign-on bonus and potential relocation assistance for those who qualify.
