About the role#
As a Credit Analyst Intern, you will learn the credit philosophies and lending activities used to support agricultural producers and agribusinesses. You will work on real projects, contribute to team goals, and gain experience in the primary responsibilities of a Credit Analyst.
What you'll do#
- Learn techniques for underwriting loans and gain exposure to short, intermediate, and long-term financing.
- Input customer financial data and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
- Make decisions on new and existing operating, term, and real estate loan applications.
- Research industry information and participate in team meetings.
- Spend time in retail offices to learn about loan administration and closing processes.
- Shadow Financial Officers to understand sales processes and potentially meet with customers.
- Complete special projects assigned by your leader.
- Attend classes facilitated by the Organizational Development and Learning teams.
- Promote the organization through public activities such as volunteer events or farm shows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a similar field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to understand ag finance, lending, and the credit business.
- Availability for a 12-week internship during the summer.
