About the role#
This is a part-time, PRN role for a student technologist at Atrium Health Kings Mountain. You will work under the supervision of a radiology technologist to support patient care and department operations. This position requires availability for second shift and weekend coverage.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic diagnostic x-rays under the supervision of a radiology technologist.
- Prepare patients for exams and ensure their safety.
- Answer patient questions regarding procedures.
- Assist physicians and technologists during diagnostic exams, including those that require contrast media.
- Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media as directed.
- Retrieve patient orders and requisitions.
- Use the RIS, EMR, and other standard applications to support administrative tasks.
- Provide clinical support by assisting patients with restrooms, bedpans, and urinals.
- Help with quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
- Clinical experience through an educational program affiliated with your medical imaging studies.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical tasks, including lifting and moving patients or equipment.
- Medical clerical skills are preferred.
- Enrollment in a senior radiography program is preferred.

- Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
