About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for foreign pharmacy graduates seeking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy environment. The program is designed to help you develop the skills necessary to pass your pharmacist licensure exams and transition into a professional pharmacy role. Interns are expected to complete their required hours within 18 months.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Resolve third-party rejections and complete manual claim forms.
- Maintain inventory and follow in-stock policies.
- Deliver health care services, including point-of-care testing and immunizations.
- Support the supervising pharmacist with dispensing and compliance monitoring.
- Coordinate training and development for pharmacy support staff.
- Participate in store operational meetings.
- Maintain HIPAA and company confidentiality standards.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
