About the role#
This is a part-time student position for individuals currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. You will support the radiology team at Atrium Health Pineville by assisting with patient care, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the department runs efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Greet patients and visitors, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
- Prepare exam rooms and work areas by stocking supplies and maintaining equipment.
- Assist patients with exam preparation and provide instructions for routine procedures.
- Transport patients between exam rooms and departments.
- Use radiology computer systems to generate requisitions and manage patient information.
- Act as a liaison between physicians, radiologists, and technologists.
- File, retrieve, and release health information records and radiographic images.
- Document observations and communicate patient needs to the care team.
- Assist with the screening and documentation of MRI implants.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 1st year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform IV insertion and venipuncture, depending on department needs.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs and performing patient transfers.
