About the role#
Advanced Behavioral Health Inc. is hiring an HR Intern for our office in Frederick, Maryland. This role provides administrative and compliance support to our HR team. You will assist with daily operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and file management. This is a paid, part-time position requiring at least 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Track project deadlines, priorities, and progress.
- Proofread HR documents like handbooks, audits, and marketing materials.
- Manage electronic employee folders and reconcile files.
- Handle offer letters and supporting documents for new hires.
- Assist with onboarding, training, recruitment, and retention.
- Complete employment verifications and reference checks.
- Post new intern opportunities on college websites and keep job boards current.
- Forward HR forms to the appropriate compliance organizations.
- Follow up with employees to collect missing information.
- Research HR laws, regulations, and industry developments.
- Learn to use HR databases and internal resources.
- Communicate team updates and reminders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and solve problems.
- A personable nature and the ability to work well in a team.
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in human resources.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds and travel as needed.
