About the role#
Acutronic Group is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern for our Austin office. You will work with our engineering team to assist in the design, testing, and optimization of electro-mechanical actuators. This role provides hands-on experience with projects that support the aerospace and defense industries.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic engineering design, development, analysis, and testing tasks for assigned project portions.
- Ensure all work meets cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Interpret design specifications, drawings, and models to ensure compliance with engineering standards and military specifications.
- Provide support across multiple projects while working alongside the engineering team.
- Apply standard technical techniques and procedures, using judgment to make minor adaptations when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least two years of study completed at an accredited college or university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in engineering courses.
- A solid understanding of engineering concepts and fundamentals.
- Proficiency in computer applications and strong critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred.
- The ability to work both independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail.
