About the role#
As a visual effects intern at Beenox, you will create and adapt effects to build the atmosphere of game levels, support gameplay elements, and enhance cinematics. You will contribute to the narrative and visual identity of our projects.
What you'll do#
- Create real-time VFX elements using particles, models, textures, animations, and lighting.
- Produce realistic effects like explosions, fire, and weather while following the artistic direction.
- Optimize effects to meet the technical limits of various development platforms.
- Coordinate with design, audio, and art teams to determine project needs.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to integrate VFX features directly into the game engine.
What you'll need#
- An exceptional portfolio of visual effects.
- Proficiency in French.
- Experience with a game engine VFX system, such as Unreal, Crytek, or Unity.
- Strong knowledge of Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, or Maya.
- Current enrollment in a program related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Media Studies, or Art.

- This position is based in Quebec, Canada.
- The internship takes place during the Winter 2027 term.
- This is a full-time, on-site role requiring five days per week in the office.
- This is a paid internship.
