About the role#
We are looking for Federal Work Study students to serve as Literacy Intervention Tutors. You will work one-on-one with elementary school students to help them reach grade-level reading proficiency. This role is ideal for students in Communications, English, Psychology, or Sociology who want to support youth in their local communities.
What you'll do#
- Tutor elementary students one-on-one using a scripted, evidence-based curriculum.
- Track student progress using Reading Partners tools.
- Complete regular check-ins with a Reading Partners team member.
- Assist the Program Coordinator with administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current eligibility for Federal Work Study.
- Access to reliable Wi-Fi and a PC, Mac, or Chromebook with a functional webcam.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must pass a Live scan background check.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position.
- You must reside in one of the following regions: North Texas, Detroit, Washington DC, Newark, New York, or South Carolina.
- Positions are available on a rolling basis, Monday through Thursday, between 8 am and 5 pm.
- This is a paid position.
