About the role#
The Philanthropy Social Media & Marketing Intern supports our communications and marketing efforts. You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and public relations. This role is designed as an educational experience where you will work under supervision to build professional skills that align with your academic goals.
What you'll do#
- Create marketing materials while learning to apply brand standards.
- Support online reputation management by participating in engagement activities.
- Maintain the social media content calendar and assist with strategy implementation.
- Draft press releases to learn public relations processes.
- Collaborate with staff and marketing partners on assigned projects.
- Participate in cross-training for fundraising and philanthropy marketing.
- Follow all organizational policies and maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program related to Communications or Marketing.
- You must be seeking academic credit for this internship.
- Ability to commit 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Possession of a valid Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Ability to pass a DES or DCS Central Registry background check.
- A valid, unrestricted driver’s license, a clean motor vehicle record, and current auto liability insurance.
- Ability to pass a drug screening.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to follow supervisor instructions.
Location & details#
- Location: Mesa, Arizona.
- Work Modality: This position may be on-site, hybrid, or remote, depending on program needs and supervisor approval.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship for academic credit.
