About the role#
The Zurn Elkay Engineering Internship provides a hands-on learning environment where you can build technical, business, and leadership skills. This program focuses on real work experience, including running reports, sharing analysis, and improving internal processes. You will also participate in networking events with leadership and receive structured coaching throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic product design modifications and assist the engineering department.
- Handle AutoCAD and Inventor drafting tasks for drawing creation and revisions.
- Develop detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment.
- Manage engineering change processes to support existing products.
- Conduct technical research to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Communicate with team members to gather project requirements and report progress.
- Participate in product design, project management, failure mode analysis, and physical product testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or a similar field.
- Completed course work related to design.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Efficient and detail-oriented work habits.
