About the role#
As an Industrial Engineer Intern at Atlas Tube, you will contribute to process improvement projects that drive efficiency and profitability. You will work alongside operations, quality, and finance teams to analyze production data, perform time studies, and identify ways to reduce waste. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, you will gain exposure to engineering tools and strategies used to measure and improve manufacturing systems. This is a full-time, on-site role based at our Jumbo Mill in Blytheville, Arkansas.
What you'll do#
- Analyze prime net yield data to identify trends and maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and finance teams to investigate root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and manage Excel documents for data tracking and reporting.
- Propose and develop process improvement techniques to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Conduct time studies across different production stages.
- Measure process outputs to determine equipment capacity and identify bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate daily records of observations, data, and findings.
- Collect and analyze data using statistical tools.
- Assist in testing and validating process improvement experiments.
- Summarize findings and present recommendations to site leadership.
- Promote healthy and safe work practices in compliance with company policy and regulatory standards.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related engineering field, with a preference for Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, or Systems Engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work as a collaborative team player.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Availability to travel for the Internship Summit.
