About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at the Atlas Tube facility in Harrow, you will support our engineering team with electrical, controls, and maintenance projects. You will gain hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems while working alongside engineering and maintenance professionals. This position requires collaboration with production teams to support safe and efficient plant operations.
What you'll do#
- Support electrical engineering and controls projects that improve manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting, testing, and issue resolution.
- Participate in electrical panel walk-downs, wiring checks, equipment inspections, and documentation updates.
- Review electrical drawings, technical diagrams, and equipment documentation with guidance from experienced team members.
- Collect and analyze data related to equipment performance, downtime, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement activities for electrical and automated systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, controls, and production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Lead and promote safe work practices in accordance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Coursework or introductory exposure to engineering, coding, PLCs, automation, or controls concepts.
- A foundational understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
- Ability to read technical diagrams or a willingness to learn.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or plant-floor environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong safety awareness and a willingness to ask questions.
