    About the role#

    This is a casual, on-call internship within the First Nations Health Programs at Yukon Hospitals. You will provide general support across various units while gaining exposure to the healthcare field. The role focuses on professional and personal development, allowing you to explore areas of interest through training and hands-on experience.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with administrative and cleaning tasks.
    • Support cultural programs.
    • Provide general assistance to different departments across the hospital.
    • Participate in training to build skills in areas like computer literacy and medical terminology.
    • Engage in professional development activities.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be between 16 and 35 years of age.
    • At least one year of general work experience.
    • A motivation to learn about healthcare settings and pursue a career in the field.
    • Ability to multitask and work well in a team.
    • Basic customer service skills.
    • Cross-cultural awareness and an understanding of Indigenous values.
    • A willingness to complete required training and development.
    • Preference is given to applicants with First Nations ancestry.

    • Location: Whitehorse, Yukon.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Employment type: Part-time, casual on-call with no guaranteed hours.
    • Compensation: $28.69 to $36.30 per hour.
