About the role#
The Student Staff - Developing Future Leader (DFL) role is designed to provide intentional growth opportunities for individuals looking to gain experience in ministry leadership. You will work within the Gallatin Valley Young Life High School Ministry team to build relationships with students and develop your capacity as a leader. This position requires a commitment to both personal spiritual growth and the practical aspects of running a ministry.
What you'll do#
- Build authentic relationships with high school students and share the Gospel.
- Attend and participate in Club and Campaigners, as well as area-wide events and camps.
- Recruit, equip, and encourage other leaders while providing support to the High School Ministry Team.
- Develop skills in communication, organization, planning, and team leadership through regular coaching from the Area Director.
- Prioritize reaching students who are far from Jesus and assist with outreach initiatives.
- Maintain your own spiritual health through prayer, scripture, and active church participation.
- Develop a personal support team and raise financial support to partner with the ministry.
- Communicate regularly with your financial supporters and establish individual ministry metrics.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a college degree.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A profession of belief in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.
- Agreement to subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
