About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support professional teams in nuclear electric power generation. You will work alongside engineers, scientists, and industry professionals to contribute to projects related to your field of study. This is a pipeline requisition for anticipated Summer 2027 openings. We review applications on a rolling basis and extend offers as specific team needs are confirmed.
What you'll do#
- Support active engineering projects and analyses within your area of study.
- Assist with day-to-day technical and operational team needs.
- Conduct research, gather technical data, and synthesize findings to inform design and analysis.
- Develop reports, technical documentation, and presentations.
- Organize and maintain project files, technical records, and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions.
- Support team members with stakeholder progress and performance updates.
- Assist with schedule impact analysis for risk, issue, and change management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor's degree in business, project management, engineering, or a related field.
- Academic or hands-on knowledge in project planning, monitoring, and controlling.
- Familiarity with scope, time, cost, and risk management.
- Understanding of project scheduling.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel.
- Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6 is preferred.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset.
- At least one letter of recommendation from a professor, academic advisor, employer, or professional mentor.
Location & details#
- Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
- Modality: Fully on-site, 5 days per week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (anticipated 10-week program from June to August).
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
- Compensation: $25 per hour for undergraduate students; $40 per hour for graduate students.
