About the role#
This position involves working directly with the corporate development and company leadership teams on strategic finance and corporate management. You will provide analytical and financial support for both new and existing projects, focusing on strategy development, partnerships, and financial analysis. This is a pipeline requisition for Summer 2027. We review applications on a rolling basis and extend offers as specific team needs are confirmed.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the team's perspective on corporate development, including M&A, capital formation, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead core tasks with independence and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Analyze financial performance to identify key drivers and recommend optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to address challenges within the energy sector.
- Prepare presentations and materials for meetings with executives, board members, and investors.
- Build financial models in Excel and presentations in PowerPoint.
- Support departmental leadership with financial activities related to current projects.
- Share knowledge regarding industry best practices and maintain professional standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or engineering.
- Five to seven years of work experience in management consulting, private equity, project finance, investment banking, or the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Advanced experience in strategy development, including market analysis and business case evaluation.
- Expert skill level in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Submission of at least one letter of recommendation from a professor, advisor, or professional mentor.
Location & details#
- Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland.
- Schedule: On-site, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10-week program).
- Compensation: $25 per hour for undergraduate students and $40 per hour for graduate students.
