About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Atkinson, Illinois, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site, splitting your time between warehouse environments and outdoor field locations. The role requires occasional travel to company events.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the production of high-quality seed corn through field operations, bulk seed processing, and distribution tasks.
- Manage inventory of bulk and bagged seed using an electronic system.
- Coordinate vehicle scheduling and dispatch for seed returns.
- Prepare and maintain packaging supplies including tags, baggers, and FastFill containers.
- Process returned seed by labeling, tagging, re-bagging, and palletizing.
- Perform quality assurance by collecting seed samples and conducting field inspections.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with growers, contractors, and inspectors.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate Sophomore or Junior status.
- Major in Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience in agriculture, production, research, or farming.
- Understanding of core agricultural concepts.
- Comfort using computers for data collection and inventory management.
- Experience with instruments used to measure and record data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safe working practices.
