About the role#
The Bridge and Structure team in Baltimore is looking for a Structural Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, on-site role is part of a 12-week program starting in May. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks while learning structural principles.
- Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare cost estimates, design plans, and special provisions.
- Maintain project documentation and complete assigned training.
- Follow company policies and maintain ethical standards in all work.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Age 18 or older.
- Interest in structural engineering and a track record of workplace safety.
- Basic skills in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse audiences.
- Preferred: Enrollment in a Masters or PhD program in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration.
- Preferred: Prior leadership experience or previous internships.

- Compensation: $19 - $30 per hour.
