About the role#
The Maintenance Plant Engineering Intern supports our maintenance and engineering teams to keep plant equipment running. You will gain hands-on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves contributing to preventive maintenance programs and helping implement engineering solutions that improve plant reliability and safety. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to learn about plant operations and project management.
What you'll do#
- Assist with routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plant machinery.
- Support repair activities to reduce downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to carry out process improvements and safety protocols.
- Record maintenance work, equipment performance, and repairs in our management systems.
- Participate in engineering projects like equipment upgrades and installations under supervision.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s program for Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A basic understanding of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
- Ability to work safely and follow established industrial safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Previous internship or practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with CMMS software, root cause analysis, or reliability-centered maintenance.
- Experience with CAD software or engineering design tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.

- This position is based on-site in Fremont, Nebraska.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
