About the role#
As an Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the financial operations that keep Whataburger running. You will work with the accounting team to support accurate financial reporting, analysis, and projects that inform business decisions. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with running reports, research, and basic financial data analysis.
- Support monthly and annual close activities, including journal entries.
- Review invoices and help maintain accurate financial records.
- Contribute to routine, ad-hoc, and special accounting projects.
- Support audit requests and documentation needs.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiencies.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in college with at least 15 undergraduate credits completed.
- Coursework or foundational knowledge in accounting or finance.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and contribute positively.
- Preferred majors include Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
Location & details#
- This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office in Texas.
- The work modality is hybrid, with on-site work required Monday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Fridays.
- Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio office.
- Full-time availability is required.
