About the role#
The Finance and Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience by supporting the accounting functions at Curry Up Now and Mortar and Pestle Brands. You will work under the supervision of the CEO and the Corporate Finance and Accounting Leader to provide service to internal and external clients. This is an unpaid, full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the annual preparation of sales projections, forecasts, expense budgets, and capital expenditure budgets.
- Help maximize profits by controlling expenses within established budget guidelines.
- Collaborate with corporate staff, general managers, and franchisees to maintain operational financial controls.
- Participate in weekly management meetings to report on finance and accounting issues.
- Help conduct audits and financial reviews.
- Assist with bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a higher education course of study in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant education experience in Accounting and Finance.
- Proficiency or exposure to financial and accounting platforms and record-keeping.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-stress situations.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings if required.
Location & details#
- This role is based in South San Francisco, California.
- You must be able to commute daily to the headquarters and local restaurants.
- Travel to corporate-owned and franchise restaurants across the United States may occur.
