About the role#
The Finance and Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience in the restaurant industry by supporting the corporate finance team. This role provides exposure to various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and payroll documentation. You will work under the supervision of the CEO and the Corporate Finance/Accounting Leader to maintain financial health and support operational standards across company-owned and franchise locations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the annual preparation of sales projections, forecasts, expense budgets, and capital expenditure budgets.
- Maximize profits by controlling expenses within established budget guidelines.
- Collaborate with corporate staff, general managers, and franchisees to maintain operational financial controls.
- Participate in weekly management meetings to report on finance and accounting issues.
- Help conduct audits and financial reviews.
- Assist with bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable tasks.
What you'll need#
- Present enrollment in a higher education program in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant education experience in Accounting and Finance.
- Some proficiency or exposure to financial and accounting platforms and record-keeping.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings if required.

- This role is based in South San Francisco, California.
- This is an on-site, unpaid internship.
- The position requires daily commuting to the headquarters and occasional travel to restaurant locations.
