About the role#
We are looking for an undergraduate student to join our Data, AI, and Risk Technology (DART), Semantic Foundation, and Enterprise Applications engineering teams. This role offers the chance to work on AI/ML applications, Big Data platforms, agentic systems, and Enterprise Semantic Models within the FinTech industry. You will work alongside engineers and researchers to solve real-world data engineering and platform challenges.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects using AI/ML for fraud prevention, credit risk assessment, and data-driven decision making.
- Build semantic models and reusable data assets to provide consistent business context.
- Develop platforms, SQL queries, and tools to ingest, clean, enrich, and optimize data.
- Design and implement AI-assisted workflows and construct proof-of-concept solutions, including LLM implementations.
- Implement automated data-quality checks, monitoring, and observability capabilities.
- Improve reusable frameworks, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Partner with software engineers to build integrations between data tools and enterprise systems.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural documentation.
- Help business users understand and integrate technical tools into their workflows.
- Research new AI tools, open-source libraries, and agentic applications to share with the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field, having completed at least your Sophomore year.
- Proficiency in coding with Python, Java, or Go and knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
- Experience with scripting, automated testing, system monitoring, and Git.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and NLP.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis, manipulation, visualization, and SQL.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Practical experience through academic projects, hackathons, prior internships, or personal coding projects.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Airflow, dbt, PySpark, Snowflake, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), DevOps practices, and CI/CD.
