About the role#
As a Nuclear Core Design intern, you will report to the Nuclear Design Manager at our Cranberry Township facility. This is a paid, full-time internship for the summer of 2027. You will work in a hybrid capacity.
What you'll do#
- Participate in introductory nuclear design training and engineering seminars.
- Perform nuclear core design calculations using internal and external simulation codes.
- Follow established internal methodology and consult with experienced peer and mentor engineers to interpret your results.
- Work with engineering mentors to produce new projects and loading pattern designs for operating PWR plants.
- Collaborate with interns, engineers, project managers, and business leaders as part of a nuclear engineering intern team.
- Contribute to projects such as core accident scenarios, feasibility studies, core startup calculations, and software design automation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering.
- Completed at least your sophomore year of college.
- Completed core introductory nuclear classes.
- An interest in Core Neutronics and Nuclear Fuel Design.
- Experience with computer simulation.

- Location: Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
- Term: May through August 2027.
- Compensation: $25.40 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
