About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work from our Cranberry Township location in a hybrid capacity. You will report to the Nuclear Design Manager and work alongside a team of engineers, project managers, and business leaders to support nuclear energy projects.
What you'll do#
- Complete introductory training and seminars on nuclear engineering and design.
- Perform core design calculations using internal and external simulation codes.
- Follow established methodologies and consult with peer engineers and mentors.
- Interpret data to produce new projects and loading pattern designs for operating PWR plants.
- Execute core accident scenario analysis and bound nuclear core calculations.
- Develop core loading patterns and test new fuel product designs.
- Create economic models, technical descriptions, and engineering estimates.
- Conduct feasibility studies and what if scenario modeling.
- Build models for core startup calculations and low power physics testing.
- Develop software and automation for nuclear core design calculations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in nuclear engineering.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college.
- Coursework in core introductory nuclear subjects.
- Interest in core neutronics and nuclear fuel design.
- Experience with computer simulation.

- Compensation: $25.40 to $29.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
