About the role#
WEC Energy Group is hiring a Safety and Industrial Hygiene intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Plover, Wisconsin. You will work directly with Safety and Health consultants to support business units across the company, focusing on risk reduction and safety compliance.
What you'll do#
- Conduct industrial hygiene exposure monitoring for physical, biological, and chemical agents.
- Audit safety and health performance through site observations and staff inquiries.
- Identify improvement opportunities and report findings and solutions to facility management.
- Deliver safety and health training programs and materials.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Serve as a professional resource for employees and build relationships with department leaders.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Public Health, or a related field, with an expected graduation date after July 2027.
- A minimum GPA of 2.8.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Compensation: Paid position with an hourly rate between $21.30 and $24.60, plus paid company holidays.
