About the role#
WEC Energy Group is hiring an engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers a hybrid work arrangement. You will work with the PG-Renewables group to support solar and wind projects, helping to design systems and equipment that keep energy flowing to customers.
What you'll do#
- Support PV Solar and wind projects by observing field activities and optimizing site performance.
- Review and revise technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Investigate emergent equipment issues and use data to analyze reliability.
- Provide general engineering support to the team and track tasks across various sites.
- Research emerging utility solar trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Travel to generation sites in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, or Illinois as required.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSE.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Valid driver's license.
- Interest in renewables, specifically PV Solar applications.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with additional locations available in Green Bay or near other WEC Energy Group renewables sites in Wisconsin.
- The role is hybrid, alternating between remote and office work.
- Sponsorship for work authorization is not provided.
