About the role#
The Maintenance Intern performs basic mechanical tasks on poultry processing equipment. This role operates within a food and beverage manufacturing environment and requires adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine equipment maintenance such as adjusting or replacing belts and changing oils in pumps.
- Assist maintenance technicians with assigned work orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the workspace, including tools and equipment.
- Report any unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the line leader or supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering programs.
- Mechanical aptitude, with preference given to those with experience working on poultry processing equipment.
- Ability to drive a forklift or pallet jack, or the willingness to learn and become certified.
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
- Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak, write, and comprehend instructions.
- A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in environments ranging from wet and cold (45ºF) to hot and humid.
- Ability to traverse the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and inspect all parts of machinery.
- Good visual skills, including the ability to distinguish colors for machinery inspection.
- Commitment to following all safety policies and wearing required protective equipment.

- Location: Tyler, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- This is a paid internship.
