    About the role#

The Perception team builds the system that learns the spatial-temporal representation and semantic meaning of the environment surrounding the vehicle. The Model Lifecycle team focuses on accelerating the machine learning development cycle as data volumes increase and models become more complex. You will work with industry leaders on projects that impact our production systems.

    What you'll do#

    • Own an end-to-end ML project from hypothesis formation to dataset building, model training, and results analysis.
    • Design experiments to measure how data choices like curation, mining, balancing, and labeling affect Perception model quality.
    • Build and refine datasets using large-scale multi-sensor data from cameras, lidar, and radar.
    • Train and evaluate models using existing internal tooling.
    • Develop metrics to identify model failures and determine which data will resolve those issues.
    • Share your findings with ML engineers and research scientists to help integrate results into production training.

    • Strong programming skills in Python.
    • Ability to design controlled experiments and draw sound conclusions from quantitative results.
    • Experience with end-to-end ML projects, perception tasks like 3D detection or segmentation, and data-centric ML methods are preferred.
    • Experience with distributed data tools like Apache Beam, Spark, or Dataflow and publications at major ML or computer vision venues are a plus.
