About the role#
This is a full-time, paid research internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with the AI Foundations team to develop machine learning solutions for autonomous driving. This position is hybrid and based in either Mountain View or San Francisco.
What you'll do#
- Define research goals and set up datasets and training code to improve model performance.
- Analyze experiment results to determine the next steps for your research.
- Create clear documentation to share your findings with team members.
- Use feedback from the team to adjust your experimental setup and research direction.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- You have hands-on experience training modern AI models.
- You understand the pre-training and post-training of large foundation models.
- You can write bug-free code and implement software without much guidance.
- You have strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret results and form verifiable hypotheses.
We prefer candidates who have:
- A research background in robotics or self-driving cars.
- Experience with AI infrastructure like PyTorch or JAX and comfort working in cluster or server environments.
- A record of publishing papers in top conferences.
