About the role#
This Design Engineer Internship supports the Engineering Department on special projects and new product development. You will work directly with the Design Engineering Team to assist with research and development efforts, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure quality objectives are met.
What you'll do#
- Build prototypes and recommend R&D improvements.
- Create and update standard work instructions, SOPs, 5S checklists, and conduct audits.
- Develop test criteria and procedures, and lead or assist in conducting these tests.
- Analyze data to identify potential savings and calculate project ROI.
- Support supplier quality initiatives and eliminate waste in key production areas.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering or related degree program, entering your sophomore, junior, or senior year.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze and evaluate data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-motivated and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Professional conduct and respect for all employees, vendors, and customers.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Neenah, Wisconsin.
- The role follows a rolling term.
- Physical requirements include the ability to walk throughout facilities, lift up to 50 pounds, and travel between multiple sites as needed.
