About the role#
VT Industries is hiring an IT Service Desk Intern for a full-time, paid position based in Holstein, Iowa. This is a rolling internship opportunity for students entering their Junior or Senior year. You will work on-site to provide technical support and maintain systems across our facilities.
What you'll do#
- Provide initial support for requests via telephone, email, and the service portal.
- Gather information from end-users to determine the complexity and severity of issues.
- Troubleshoot basic problems with desktop equipment, printers, mobile devices, and LAN/WAN-based software.
- Configure Windows 10 environments and assist with software setup for applications like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Adobe.
- Develop FAQ lists and help sheets for end-users.
- Create and update technical documentation for troubleshooting.
- Report system outages to the appropriate escalation level.
- Collaborate with service desk technicians to address onsite needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, MIS, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-motivated approach to work.
- Respectful conduct toward customers, vendors, and employees.
Location & details#
- Location: Holstein, Iowa.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit for long periods, walk between facilities, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. You may also need to climb stairs or ladders and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, or crouching.
