About the role#
The Automation Intern works with the Engineering, CI, and Production teams at VT Industries. You will focus on planning and validating manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Rome, Georgia.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop manufacturing process improvements.
- Support daily production and maintenance operations.
- Identify waste and improve key constraint areas.
- Calculate return on investment and potential savings for projects.
- Ensure processes meet safety laws and regulations.
- Maintain technical documentation for design changes.
- Communicate project status to teams across the company.
- Travel to other manufacturing sites as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Aerospace, Biomedical, or Environmental).
- Working knowledge of electromechanical systems.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with basic Excel skills preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.

- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and walk throughout manufacturing facilities.
