About the role#
As an Operations Management Intern at VT Industries, you will work directly with department managers to learn core supervisory skills. This role involves observing daily operations and participating in management tasks, including performance reviews and hiring processes. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting while supporting production goals.
What you'll do#
- Shadow managers to learn supervisory techniques, such as training, appraisals, and corrective actions.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production team.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure goals are met on time.
- Assign work duties and maintain accurate employee records.
- Inspect product quality at each workstation.
- Promote a safe work environment and maintain good housekeeping across all areas.
What you'll need#
- You are currently entering your Junior or Senior year of college.
- You are pursuing a degree in Operations Management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
- You possess mechanical aptitude and an ability to analyze and improve processes.
- You are self-motivated and maintain a respectful attitude toward employees, vendors, and customers.
- You are accountable for the accurate and timely completion of production orders.
- You must be able to perform physical tasks, including walking throughout facilities, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating stairs or ladders.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship based in Neenah, Wisconsin.
- The position is part-time and follows a rolling term.
