About the role#
The Von Maur Retail Management Internship is a 10-week leadership development program. You will work in a store location to gain experience in customer service, team leadership, and store operations. The role transitions from learning operational basics to functioning in an Assistant Department Manager capacity. You will also visit the corporate office in Davenport, Iowa to connect with company leaders.
What you'll do#
- Support daily department leadership and store execution.
- Coach and motivate associates to help develop high-performing teams.
- Analyze sales performance, business reports, and operational metrics to identify opportunities.
- Participate in merchandising execution and observe how product presentation affects business results.
- Engage in executive exposure, cross-functional job shadows, and leadership development activities.
What you'll need#
- Graduation date of December 2027, May 2028, December 2028, or May 2029.
- Major in Management, Business, Marketing, or Fashion.
- Availability to work full time (35-40 hours per week), including days, nights, and weekends.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

- Location: Oxmoor Center, Louisville, Kentucky.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17 per hour with overtime eligibility.
