About the role#
The Von Maur Merchandising Internship is a 10-week program for students interested in buying, merchandising, and retail strategy. You will start in a Davenport store to learn about the customer experience and how merchandising decisions affect business results. You will then move to the Corporate Office to work directly with a Buyer. This role covers the full merchandising lifecycle, including assortment planning, inventory management, and vendor partnerships.
What you'll do#
- Support Buyers and merchandising teams with daily operations.
- Analyze reports, business performance, and customer data to find opportunities and guide decisions.
- Take part in assortment planning, inventory management, and strategy development.
- Attend store visits and vendor appointments to learn about the broader retail business.
What you'll need#
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028 from a college or university.
- A major in Merchandising, Fashion, Business, Retail, Analytics, or a related field.
- Availability to work full time (35 to 40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Previous experience in retail, merchandising, leadership, or business is a plus.
