About the role#
The IT Intern provides support for the operations of the Virginia Spaceport Authority. You will work alongside IT staff to provide tools and information that assist with operational processes and decision-making. This position offers hands-on experience through project-based work.
What you'll do#
- Participate in project phases including evaluation, design, selection, implementation, installation, configuration, testing, and support of hardware and applications.
- Support Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
- Resolve and document support tickets, including end-user configuration and network communications issues.
- Develop support and end-user documentation for operational training.
- Use desktop and mobile device management tools to manage end-user devices.
- Maintain user and computer account information in Active Directory, including managing rights and security.
- Monitor system performance for both on-prem and hosted resources.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in an IT-related field at an accredited institution.
- Enrollment on at least a half-time basis.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for a NASA credential.
