About the role#
This internship focuses on graphic design and visual branding within the External Relations Department. You will work on projects that apply your education to real-world tasks at the Virginia Space Flight Academy. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Wallops Island, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Design digital and printed marketing materials.
- Work with print shops to select materials, dimensions, and colors for orders.
- Maintain VSA branding standards across all documents and presentations.
- Create and edit PowerPoint presentations and other visual media.
- Capture and edit photos for organizational use.
- Support awareness-raising campaigns.
- Assist with departmental activities including events, spaceport tours, social media, and writing or editing tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor degree program in Graphic Design, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or Advertising.
- Intermediate skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to turn data into clear, readable visuals.
- Strong written, oral, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- A valid driver license.
- Ability to follow OSHA safety guidelines.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and obtain a NASA credential.
