About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of an Engineering Supervisor or Manufacturing Engineer to support production and process improvement projects. This role involves hands-on work with product samples, prototypes, and equipment. You will contribute to the daily operations of the Value Stream team while learning to apply Lean concepts.
What you'll do#
- Draft component and process specifications, protocols, and change orders.
- Build product prototypes and perform product testing.
- Gather and analyze data to support process improvements.
- Assist with equipment design, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic machining, wiring, PLC ladder logic programming, and circuit construction.
- Complete component and assembly drawing tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Support new product launches and validations.
- Maintain a project list and submit weekly progress reports.
- Follow all GMP and SOP guidelines to ensure compliance with FDA and ISO regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Up to 1 year of internship or co-op experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Experience with AutoCad or Pro Engineer.
- Ability to lift 25-35 lbs and perform moderate standing, bending, and twisting.
